Weather guru Paul Douglas says we might see 80 degrees this weekend. It was 73 on Wednesday and he thinks we may see six days with temps above 70 this month (the old record was five days in 1910)!
Snide remarks about global warming aside, if the winters lose their bite won’t everyone want to live here?
Padraig Harrington posted a record-breaking 61 yesterday at Innisbrook in Palm Harbor, Fla., and the Transitions Championship. Too bad Padraig didn’t post that score tomorrow, earning himself a new nickname — “St. Paddy.” Oh well, the luck of the Irish and all that jazz.
As of last count (March 16), more than 90 MGA member golf courses and driving ranges were open for the season. Is this a new record? Unfortunately, MGA does not track opening dates of its member golf clubs — but it sure feels like a record.
And speaking of feelings: I feel a round of golf this afternoon is in the future of a heckova lot of Minnesotans. You betcha.
